So I was on a roll a few days ago riding lots until Lambton college decided to put a stop to that. I was living with my nose in a book for 3 days straight. It was a little stuffy. I think I redeemed myself today tho with a solid 4 hour ride with my buddy Andrew. Drove down along the St. Claire river, went further south and then back up the river ending up back home. Good day in the office. Also had a little cross country meet in Windsor yesterday that went fairly well considering my legs are short and not meant to run. Final meet is in Hammertown on saterday. Then I can get jacked at the gym and start riding like an animal. An animal such as a Liger or Lyger depending on if your Canadian or not. I think I've said enough. Time to watch the red sox loose.

Bonk

So with a little bit of new found motivation I headed out again in search of some dirt roads to shred. And shred I did. Probably a little to hard but its hard to hold back for whatever reason this time of year. I'll get into the smart training grove soon enough but I decided to have some fun. With the sunset on one side and the full moon the other it was a pretty bitchin cuiz down this road that just kept deteriorating. Exactly what I was looking for. Besides one tangent through a random corn field that led to a dead end, the ride was going well. A little too well because I found myself pretty far from home when I decided, hey I should turn around no? And when things start to get a little dark and your in unfamiliar territory.. ya start to take some wrong turns.. at least I did. And when an unexpected 30k on dirt roads comes along, that equals, yes, the oh so familiar hunger bonk. So for the last half hour of my ride I was only thinking of chocolate chip cookies and trying to remember my name. Good times.
Sarnia is straight roads. Ride, turn right for an hour, ride, turn right again, and once more, and well your home. Except for one god damn road that some jack ass decided to put in to throw off cyclist. That road, was the one I took.
Enough bitching. Oh wait...That was my view the entire time. THE ENTIRE TIME.

More MTB

Today I ripped some shotty trails with my buddy Alan that runs on the XC team with me. We both kinda suck at running, me more than him. And so instead of training for that, we did something fun and went for a mtb ride. I once again donned the cross bike and headed out to these trails that are somewhat of a secret outside sarnia. Tricky to find unless you've been there before.
They started off pretty ballin', some fast flowy trails, not to technical that I could handle with the cros bike. But as we headed further in, everything was demo-ed by falled trees from this storms we had a week or 2 back. So that kinda put the kybosh on those trails. We rode one loop again and decided to come back with a chain saw and do business. Headed over to the trails I roade yesterday after to get a few more miles in. There's more potential there too but lots of work to be done.
Came home and prepared a gourmet meal consisting of KD and a cold glass of coke. Just keeping it real.

Now for some more of this....

Saterday 'Cross

Well not really cross but I was on my cross bike riding. Riding through farmers fields and trespassing on government/ dirty oil companies land. And then I found this conservation park. I think I'm the only person that has been in it other than a tractor this year. Lots of mowed trails, not perfect for riding but better and farmers fields. AND then, I just so happen to come across some old ...old something trails. They wern't destroyed with ruts. So ATV is out. No one rides bikes, so MTB is out. I'm baffeled. They were a bit grown in.. but noott that bad. I kicked a few sicks off the trail and was devoured by lingering mosquitos. It's October right? Anyway they were sweet. So I'm going to go back to groom these babies (trails) finer than show dogs on CBS. More pictures to follow.
